We’re looking for a People Operations & Automation Manager to help shape Garner’s next-generation People function. In this hands-on leadership role, you will own the design, management, and continuous improvement of Garner’s People Operations infrastructure — including systems, workflows, and compliance. You’ll leverage AI and advanced technology to build scalable, efficient solutions that power a world-class employee experience and support the success of our rapidly growing organization — now approaching 500 employees and expanding quickly. This role reports to the Head of People.
This position has the option to be fully Remote or Hybrid in our NYC office.
What you will do:
- Own and evolve Garner’s People Operations infrastructure — including HRIS, payroll, compliance, leaves of absence, and automation tools — ensuring our systems scale seamlessly with company growth
- Act as the “product manager” for People Technology — develop and execute a roadmap for Rippling and other HR tech platforms, integrating new tools and AI-driven solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency
- Design and implement automation across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding and offboarding, to leaves of absence, to data management — freeing up the team to focus on strategic, high-impact work
- Streamline compliance and operational workflows — proactively monitor federal and state regulatory requirements and ensure all processes, documentation, and audits are continuously updated and airtight
- Develop and maintain People Analytics dashboards and reporting, leveraging data to identify trends, measure process efficiency, and inform People strategy and executive decision-making
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, IT, and Security) to ensure seamless data flow, operational consistency, and an exceptional employee experience
- Provide oversight and mentorship to the People Operations Analyst, setting the foundation for a growing team
What you will bring to the team:
- 5+ years of experience across functions in the People/HR space, with 2+ years with a focus on HR Operations at a tech-forward organization. Product Management and/or Technology Consulting experience is a big plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
- A combination of high ownership mentality, agility, and exceptional project management skills that has resulted in a proven track record of delivering complex initiatives in a rapidly evolving, high-bar environment
- A deep interest and nuanced understanding of AI capabilities and applications
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets abilities
- Experience with Rippling strongly preferred

Compensation Transparency:
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 – $175,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.
