The Director, Product Management is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of product managers in the development and management of the company’s products. This role involves providing strategic direction, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the successful execution of product initiatives. The Director, Product Management plays a crucial role in aligning product strategies with business goals, driving innovation, and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product managers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional growth opportunities.
o Lead and facilitate major product initiatives and launches to ensure the success of the program.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the product management team.
o Collaborate with executive leadership to define and communicate the overarching product strategy and vision.
o Work with individual product managers to align their projects with the company’s strategic goals.
o Oversee the creation and maintenance of product roadmaps that align with market trends, customer needs, and business priorities.
o Ensure that product roadmaps are well-defined, prioritized, and updated based on changing circumstances.
o Work closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, and other departments to facilitate seamless cross-functional collaboration throughout the product lifecycle.
o Foster strong relationships and open communication channels to drive successful product launches.
o Guide product managers in defining clear project plans, objectives, and milestones for product development.
o Monitor the progress of product initiatives, ensuring that projects are executed on time and within scope.
o Advocate for a customer-first approach, ensuring that products are designed and developed to meet customer needs and deliver exceptional value.
o Encourage product managers to actively gather customer feedback and incorporate it into product planning.
o Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of product initiatives.
o Collaborate with product managers to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions for optimization.
o Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the progress of product initiatives, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges.
o Effectively communicate product strategies, status, and outcomes to various internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree
o Proven experience in product management, with a track record of leadership and increasing responsibilities.
o Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving goals.
o Ability to design and drive execution of processes that will help increase the effectiveness of the team.
o Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
o Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive informed decision-making.
o Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product management best practices.
o Previous experience managing a team of product managers.
o Demonstrate ability to drive innovation, align product strategies with business objectives, and lead successful product launches.
