Roadie enables local delivery to more than 95% of U.S. households by providing access to more than 200,000 independent drivers nationwide – allowing businesses to offer their customers delivery optionality for almost any industry, from airlines to artisans.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal engineer is someone with strong software design fundamentals, a high bias towards action, and an itch for better-understanding business and consumer needs. We also believe the best software engineers balance technical ability with empathy for customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Scale our backend frameworks to support new feature requests and performance requirements
  • Collaborate with broader Technology team to improve reliability of existing systems
  • Writes and delivers reliable code through integration, test automation, and in-depth code reviews
  • Apply experience and knowledge of industry best practices to support and continuously improve the performance, efficiency, and maintainability of existing applications

Technologies

  • Languages: Primarily, Go and Ruby on Rails. Experience with Python or Javascript, a plus.
  • Data: Postgres, Redis, Kafka, Pinot, Redshift
  • Infra & Devops: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CircleCI

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Experience writing clean, stable and maintainable code in high-scale production environments
