You are a Product Marketing and Strategy Director who combines a passion for leveraging generative AI with a deep sense of purpose in advancing Bonterra’s mission. You embrace AI as an essential tool for accelerating research, writing, analysis, and ideation, while also playing a pivotal role in shaping Bonterra’s product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy. You are curious about new AI capabilities, know how to apply them at scale, and are equally energized by transforming fast-moving innovation into clear, compelling stories that advance the social good sector.
What you will do:
- Define and own the voice of our products in the market—turning breakneck product innovation into clear, compelling, and value-driven narratives.
- Be the source of truth for buyer personas, market sizing, packaging, and pricing.
- Engage directly with customers to shape positioning and validate value delivery in real time.
- Partner closely with Product to influence how we position, package, and price AI capabilities, including usage-based and outcome-based models.
This role spans both analytical rigor (market sizing, pricing strategy, survey design, COGS analysis) and creative storytelling (crafting provocative messaging, building narratives that resonate, making complexity simple).
Responsibilities:
- Craft and continually refine compelling, AI-forward product narratives that set Bonterra apart in the social good market.
- Serve as the primary researcher and owner of buyer personas through hands-on interviews, surveys, and fieldwork.
- Engage directly with users and customers to test and iterate positioning in real time, ensuring resonance with target audiences.
- Be the clear and compelling source of truth for Sales and Marketing, translating rapid innovation into crisp, accessible, and value-driven stories.
Market Definition & Strategy
- Own the definition of TAM, SAM, and ICP for Bonterra’s offerings, ensuring our strategy is grounded in rigorous analysis.
- Translate market and competitive insights into recommendations that shape roadmap priorities and go-to-market plans.
Packaging & Pricing
- Partner with Product to design and validate packaging and pricing models for AI-driven capabilities, including:
- Usage-based and outcome-based pricing
- Product-led growth motions
- Willingness-to-pay and Van Westendorp surveys
- COGS-driven profitability analysis
- Lead cross-functional pricing and packaging reviews to ensure alignment with customer value and business objectives.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Build direct relationships with customers and users, ensuring their voice drives how we position and deliver innovation.
- Rapidly test, learn, and adapt messaging and go-to-market approaches based on feedback loops.
- Represent Bonterra externally as a thought leader on AI’s role in social good.
Requirements:
- An AI-native marketer – Generative AI tools are second nature to you. You move faster, explore more broadly, and deliver higher quality output because of your AI-first mindset.
- A storyteller and strategist – You can distil complex innovation into clear, differentiated, value-based messaging that excites customers and inspires internal teams.
- An analytical thinker – You’re fluent in market research, pricing strategy, survey design, and data-driven insights. You enjoy digging deep but always return with crisp, actionable conclusions.
- A simplifier – You thrive on making complexity accessible and compelling, not exhaustive or overwhelming.
- A visionary – You see the distinct, future-oriented value of a product and champion it with courage, even when it challenges the status quo.
