Rula is seeking an experienced Insurance Specialist to join our Financial Operations team to oversee quality assurance of our verification of benefits program and help patients understand their benefits and access affordable care. This person will be responsible for verifying patients’ benefits, addressing patient questions, and completing quality assurance. Insurance verification is a critical front-end operation for Rula’s revenue cycle, and this candidate will play a pivotal role in improving the accuracy and efficiency of this function, which ultimately impacts everyone at Rula: our patients, payers, providers, and internal teams.

NOTE: While we are a fully remote company, we are not considering candidates who reside in California or Washington for this particular position.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Revenue Cycle Billing with an emphasis on verification of benefits
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with payer portals and insurance benefit terminology (copay, coinsurance, deductible, etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Quality assurance experience
  • Tech Savviness / Fluency with Google Suite, Salesforce, ZenDesk, AdvancedMD / EHR, or similar platforms
  • General knowledge of behavioral health terminology
  • Understanding of Medicare / Medicaid, Medigap, etc.
  • Willingness to work a Tuesday – Saturday work week
