About the role
- Working with an international team of sports modelers to build a range of models to assist with our unique Underdog business.
- You will build predictive and simulation models to underpin the pricing of a range of our products across major US sports
- Analyzing defining and performing on the performance of our models to identify opportunities of improvement.
- Collaborating with engineering and trading teams on the design, implementation and refinement of models.
Who you are
- 2+ years of full time experience in a fast-paced financial or similar setting
- Strong programming skills in Python and R, with experience using libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and their application in data analysis
- Ability to write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases
- Familiarity with big data tools like Spark and Kafka
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline design
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field

- Have experience working as a data scientist in the sports or finance industries.
Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000, plus target equity. The starting base salary will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills and experience, among other things.
