We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy to lead our efforts in crafting compelling and effective proposals and pitch materials that resonate with our merchants and partners. This role is pivotal in driving our GTM strategy, ensuring our messaging is clear, impactful, and tailored to the unique needs of our customers. What You’ll Do
- Develop winning proposals: Lead the entire process of creating high-quality, persuasive responses to RFPs and RFIs by working with various teams to craft narratives that highlight our unique value proposition.
- Create engaging sales and customer success content: Design compelling and empathetic pitch decks and other materials that translate complex financial solutions into clear stories addressing the specific needs and aspirations of our merchant partners.
- Maintain and improve content quality: Uphold high standards for merchant-facing content, ensuring it is consistent, accurate, and optimized for effectiveness by analyzing performance data and staying current on industry trends.
- Serve as a merchant advocate: Ensure all content is relevant and directly addresses merchant challenges and pain points by being a student of the industry and BNPL space.
- Collaborate across teams: Partner with Product, PMM, Sales, and Marketing to align on messaging, product launches, and overall go-to-market strategies, especially for sales opportunities and proposal submissions.
What We Look For
- 10+ years of professional experience in revenue merchant facing roles (selling, CS), content strategy or proposal management.
- Demonstrable experience in leading and writing successful responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other detailed sales proposals is essential.
- Proven ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives for a B2B audience, specifically merchants.
- Highly preferred: Extensive experience in the payments or fintech industry. Experience working directly with and developing content for merchants and partners is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to distill complex technical and business concepts into clear, concise, and engaging language.
- Strong understanding of the B2B sales funnel and customer journey.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing multiple RFP processes simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
- Bonus Points If You Have: Experience with RFP software or content management systems.

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $190,000 – $240,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $169,000 – $219,000
