We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Customer Growth team, with a focus on web-based experiences. Along with your team, this role will be responsible for initiatives including high-impact website redesigns, experimentation, and top-of-funnel optimization.
You’ll collaborate closely with partners in Product, Engineering, Marketing, SEO, Brand, and Analytics to drive business growth and elevate our web presence. You’ll bring modern design sensibilities, a sharp visual eye, and a user-first mindset to projects that shape how customers discover, trust, and choose Thumbtack.
What you’ll do
- Craft: Deliver high-quality, responsive designs that reflect contemporary interaction and visual design best practices — across desktop and mobile web.
- Execution: Own the design for key in-flight projects within the Customer Growth team, focusing on upleveling high-traffic web experiences and optimization efforts.
- Experimentation: Identify and execute on opportunities for A/B testing and conversion improvements in collaboration with data science and engineering.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Marketing, SEO, and Brand to translate strategy into polished user experiences.
- Communication: Use storytelling and visuals to communicate design rationale and bring stakeholders along in your process.
- Prototyping: Leverage prototyping tools to communicate ideas, validate hypotheses, and refine interaction flows.
In order to be successful, you must bring
- 4+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio of consumer-facing web work.
- Strong interaction design fundamentals paired with high-touch visual design — you can craft elegant, engaging interfaces with modern polish.
- Expertise in responsive web design, with a strong understanding of mobile web interaction patterns.
- Experience working with or adjacent to brand and marketing teams.
- Familiarity with lifecycle marketing, SEO, and performance-driven design strategies.
- Demonstrated success driving growth through experimentation, A/B testing, and optimization.
- Experience leading or contributing to large-scale website redesigns.
- Strong communicator with the ability to tell stories and align diverse stakeholders around your ideas.
- Experience using prototyping tools in your design workflow.
Expected salary ranges
- For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $149,900 – $194,000.
- For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $135,000 – $174,700.
- For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $127,400 – $164,900.
