We’re looking for a data science leader to guide and grow a high-impact team focused on Mozilla’s expanding portfolio of monetized products and services. This role is central to shaping a monetization strategy that aligns with our core values – protecting user privacy, delivering meaningful value to users, and ensuring the long-term financial health of Mozilla.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and scale a high-performing data science team, driving strategy and execution across monetized features and surfaces.
- Balance business goals and user trust by defining a monetization framework that supports privacy and user-first principles.
- Translate data into impact through deep analysis, clear insights, and the development of metrics, dashboards, and self-serve reporting tools that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Drive measurement rigor by designing and evolving experimentation and evaluation frameworks for testing and optimizing monetization features.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Advertising teams to define and deliver on our product and monetization roadmap.
What you’ll bring:
- 6+ years of experience in data science with a strong focus on monetization. Experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, search and recommendation systems is a strong plus.
- 3+ years of experience leading and scaling data science teams.
- Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and applied data analytics. Proficiency in Python, as well as SQL.
- Strong understanding of privacy-preserving technologies and how they can be applied within advertising or monetization contexts.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
