We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join, support, manage, and help grow a group of high performing product engineers at Alma. You’ll lead the Care Finding team which is focused on guiding clients to find high-quality, covered mental healthcare with the right provider(s). You’ll aim to help clients gain the confidence, awareness, and understanding they need to choose the right provider for them. On this scaling team, you will have a strong hand in defining Alma’s features, services, and architecture.
What you’ll do:
- Grow and develop an incredible team of hardworking, collaborative, and motivated engineers who have high expectations around individual ownership and impact.
- Set team priorities that align with Alma’s goals and unify strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
- Partner with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to ensure your team is prioritizing and delivering value to Alma members.
- Clearly communicate technical expectations and contribute to the wider technical expectations of the organization.
- Engage in the end-to-end recruiting process, hiring, and on-boarding engineering talent to help grow the team and broader engineering organization.
- Engage with the Product and Engineering team to create a long-term technical vision and product strategy.
Who you are:
- You have 3-5 years of engineering experience, with 2-4 years of people management experience, and 3+ years of combined tech leadership and people management.
- You’ve previously led and/or managed a team of at least 4 engineers.
- You clearly communicate expectations, provide regular feedback, coach team members towards their growth and development goals, and make insights and recommendations to improve the overall career development process for the entire engineering organization.
- You are a mentor to individual contributors of different seniority levels and expertise as well as other engineering managers in your domain.
- You possess a clear and engaging communication style with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad diverse organization.
- You have a demonstrable history of shipping user-facing products.
- You feel a passion for Alma’s mission – to improve the experience of therapy for providers and their clients, and simplify access to care.

Salary Band: $200,000 – $230,000
