The Opportunity: This role leads a team of top notch engineers and the primary focus is to make our products even more awesome by guiding and empowering the team to build and invent.  You will facilitate the adoption of new technology and make a significant impact on our strategic direction.  In direct collaboration with Sales, Product, Customer Success and other teams, you will work hands-on to solve complex problems and remove roadblocks for your team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee the execution of our functional roadmap, creating plans to enable efficiency and high productivity for the team
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
    • Recommend technical directions to your team and across the engineering organization
    • Communicate clearly and transparently the strategy, rationale, and progress within the team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
    • Regularly provide comprehensive reports on the status of current projects, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress, milestones achieved, challenges encountered, and any adjustments to timelines or resources.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture through team-building activities and regular check-ins.
    • Provide timely feedback and coaching to the team, investing considerable time to the career development of team members.
    • Participate in the hiring process and ensure new team members are properly onboarded
    • Address and resolve conflicts within the team promptly and effectively.
    • Ensure that the team adheres to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and promote continuous improvement processes to enhance team performance and product quality.
  • Encourage innovation and support research and development initiatives within the team.

Must have skills:

  • Exceptional management experience with a track record of delivering product features and growing and developing team members
  • Hands on experience development software in web frameworks (React, Ruby on Rails, Symfony, Angular, Laravel, etc)
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Ability to inspire and motivate the team.
    • Strong decision-making skills.
    • Capability to provide clear direction and set realistic goals.
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
    • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks
    • Ability to evaluate project scope and make recommendations for the optimal delivery
    • Proficiency using project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc)
  • Mentorship and Development:
    • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
    • Commitment to the professional growth of the team.

  • Communication:
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
