As our Director of Total Rewards, you will report directly to the SVP, People & Culture, serving as a trusted partner and leader within the People & Culture organization. You will drive Boulevard’s total rewards philosophy, including compensation and benefits. As an experienced senior leader, you will have the ability to both develop long-term total rewards strategies and to dive deep into the details as needed. You will leverage your expertise and experience to deliver high-impact and innovative programs and solutions; that help drive our mission-oriented culture at Boulevard.
What you’ll do here:
- Promote our culture of human impact and high accountability through our total rewards philosophy, strategies and programs.
- Lead the development of a revitalized ‘Talent System’ from the ground up, encompassing our compensation philosophy, pay structures, promotion and equity strategies, as well as a comprehensive benefits redesign.
- Anticipate market trends and offer expert guidance and thought leadership to design, implement, and manage total rewards programs that are fair, scalable, performance-oriented, and designed to attract and retain top talent while aligning with Boulevard’s culture and strategic business goals.
- Lead Global Total Rewards at Boulevard (including global compensation and benefits, international labor market and pay analyses, executive compensation, job architecture, compensation cycle systems and processes, promotion processes, long term incentive programs, equity planning, incentive and recognition programs and pay equity analyses).
- Continually optimize our job architecture, levels and assessment frameworks for scale and effectiveness in attracting, developing and retaining talent.
- Lead and inspire across the People & Culture team. Provide clarity, vision, and coaching for individuals and the team.
- Ensure a fair and equitable workplace: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of North American legislation and market trends impacting compensation and benefits, proactively amend policies and programs to ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, data privacy, and financial and SOX controls.
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive cross-functional strategies to address opportunities and challenges in Total Rewards. This includes effectively presenting insights and recommendations to executives and continuously monitoring total rewards programs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Establish a Compensation Committee for our Board and identifying the right reporting and information sharing with our trusted Board Members.
- Partner closely with other members of the People & Culture Leadership Team, our Finance team, and executive team members to deliver on our commitment for competitive and impactful total rewards that attract and retain top talent.
- Create the infrastructure for measuring impact and effectiveness of our Total Rewards programs.
- Partner as a senior leader in the broader People & Culture team, ensuring efforts are coordinated across all stakeholders and delivering a seamless employee experience.
- Maintain and facilitate relationships between senior leadership and external consultants as needed.
- Manage conflicting priorities to deliver the highest value initiatives that support key business objectives while respecting organizational and team capacity.
- Oversee all aspects of benefits administration, initially managing the process hands-on until additional support is established.
- Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.
What you’ll need to thrive:
- 5+ years of relevant global total rewards experience with proficiency in global benefits, cash compensation, long-term incentive programs, including equity management
- Ability and interest in exhibiting a “player/coach” mindset; we are a growth stage company and require that all leaders have the technical ability to operate leanly and oscillate between both the 3,000-foot and 3-foot levels of detail and output
- High-growth SaaS company experience
- Experience leading a global total rewards team; ideally in a rapidly scaling global business, attracting and retaining talent in a competitive landscape
- Demonstrated experience shaping total rewards strategies; working with and influencing executive stakeholders and engaging in the preparation of proposals to the Board of Directors (Compensation Committee)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to package and present complex analyses and recommendations clearly
- Operates with strong judgment, creativity, agility and flexibility; proactively recommending and adapting programs based on a keen sense of the market and how talent strategies should evolve
- Data-driven leader with a strong ability to analyze and turn data into insights and action plans aligned with company direction

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience

How we’ll take care of you:
Your total budgeted cash compensation for this role is between $159,600 and $228,000 USD, depending on your current skills, experience, training, and overall market demands. This range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement.
