How we’ll deliver success:
We are looking for a Carrier Manager to take ownership of key components within Shippo’s global carrier network. This role focuses on managing performance, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and contributing to internal processes that ensure a high-quality shipping experience for merchants. As an individual contributor, you will operate with increasing independence, own your own carrier relationships as well as manage larger carriers as part of a team. You will contribute to high value projects, and influence cross-functional outcomes.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams—Product, Engineering, Support, and Sales—as well as external carrier partners to resolve issues, improve performance, and align on evolving priorities. Your work will directly contribute to the success of broader team OKRs and business objectives.
Shipping & handling responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day relationship with a portfolio of domestic and/or international carriers, ensuring service quality and issue resolution.
- Take ownership of key carrier initiatives, such as performance monitoring, compliance reviews, or issue triage workflows.
- Identify and track carrier KPIs, surfacing trends or performance gaps, and proactively driving improvements.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to resolve carrier-facing issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation for integrations, issue-handling workflows, and operating procedures.
- Participate in or lead straightforward carrier projects (e.g., Carrier QBRs, Partner introductions, New product scoping ).
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and carrier partners, helping to translate strategic priorities into actionable tasks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure ongoing platform compatibility and alignment with the merchant experience.
Do you tick the boxes?
- 3–5 years of experience in partner management, partner success, or account management roles, preferably in logistics, e-commerce, or SaaS.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities independently.
- Proactive problem-solver who considers root causes, gathers input from various sources, and drives complex issues to resolution.
- Familiarity with API documentation and moderate technical fluency to support technical discussions or troubleshoot partner-reported issues.
- Clear communicator who contributes relevant information to facilitate decision-making and cross-functional alignment.
- Strong customer-first mindset, with an understanding of both carrier and merchant priorities.
- Proven ability to build rapport and work effectively across teams and with external partners.
