Software engineers on the business applications team work across a variety of front and back end systems to enable the cross-application communication that powers the Articulate product ecosystem. Our team owns the website CMS, community CMS, and a variety of internal and external integrations with our accounting, finance, people, and product engineering teams that enable operational data sharing across our distributed organization.
You’ll work primarily with Ruby on Rails and Javascript (both back-end and React) within our bespoke applications and implement integrations and program plugins in a variety of languages as required by the integrating systems. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in one or more web-oriented programming languages with exposure to or interest in learning others. This person enjoys going wide when it comes to programming languages and approaches vs. going deep in one particular stack and is willing and able to learn what is necessary to solve problems as they arise.

What you’ll do:

  • Full stack web development in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML/CSS, and Ruby.
  • Develop, extend, and maintain API across multiple frameworks and platforms including Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Amazon Web Services, and Salesforce Apex.
  • Implement web interfaces using JavaScript, React.js, HTML, CSS.
  • Collaborate with IT managers, business analysts and other stakeholders to define software requirements.
  • Contribute to our codebases and help ensure that our coding standards and patterns are observed by participating in design discussions and code reviews.
  • Conduct thorough unit testing and collaborate with quality assurance engineers to identify and fix software defects.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software components and processes and provide training to internal teams as needed.
  • Assist support and operations teams in triaging and resolving production issues, including participating in on-call rotation.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.

What you should have:

  • 2+ years professional experience building full stack web applications.
  • Experience working with JavaScript and web technologies.
  • Experience working with front-end frameworks and tools (e.g. React/Redux, SASS)Experience with database tools and languages (SQL, key-value stores, etc.).
  • Experience thinking, planning, and executing autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with cross-functional team members.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
The pay range for this position is $99,900 to $149,900 for all US locations. Articulate takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
