We are seeking a skilled and proactive Web Operations Manager to join our dynamic marketing organization. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the continuous operation, security, and maintenance of our corporate website, a vital platform for lead generation, brand building, and showcasing our product offerings, built on a Sanity CMS, Vercel, and Next.js stack. Working closely with web developers and the web team, and reporting to the Director of Web Strategy, you will ensure the website is performant, secure, and aligned with our marketing objectives. You will manage website infrastructure, oversee security processes (with vendor support for technical implementation), optimize content publishing workflows, and collaborate with both internal web developers and external vendors to maintain a best-in-class digital presence powered by our modern technology stack. This role requires a strong understanding of web operations, experience with headless CMS platforms, a proactive approach to security management, excellent project management skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate within a technical team and with external partners. You will play a key role in ensuring our website remains a secure, reliable, and effective marketing asset.
What You’ll Do:
- Run and manage sprint meetings for web operations, security, and maintenance-related tasks, working closely with the web team to plan and prioritize work, including tasks related to CMS management and updates.
- Manage website-related projects and tasks, utilizing teamwork tickets, including projects focused on content workflows and platform enhancements.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the web team (developers, UX manager, strategy director) and broader marketing team via Slack, email, and regular meetings.
- Implement and manage website monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve performance issues across the entire stack.
- Manage QA and testing processes in collaboration with web developers.
- Perform regular website maintenance tasks, including applying security patches, CMS updates, and managing necessary platform updates and integrations.
- Monitor website code and CMS configurations using Git/Github for effective version control.
- Support website domains and server operations in collaboration with the IT department, ensuring proper registration, DNS configurations, backups, deployments, and SSL certificates.
- Analyze website data and trends to proactively recommend improvements to website performance, security, and operational efficiency, collaborating with the web development team for implementation.
- Work with security teams to meticulously scan systems for vulnerabilities. Review detailed reports and work with team members to implement actionable solutions.
- Support the implementation of security hardening measures in coordination with hosting providers and IT.
- Stay informed about the latest security threats and best practices and collaborate with vendors and developers to improve the website’s security infrastructure.
- Support advanced security monitoring measures, working with vendors and internal teams for implementation and response, including account purging, content security policies, tracking of integrated frontend services, visual automated testing, administrative user activity monitoring, and data transmission monitoring.
- Ensure efficient and secure content publishing operations and workflows. Optimize content creation and publishing processes leveraging Sanity’s features and capabilities.
- Regularly review and manage audit logs for security, content governance, and operational insights related to content management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing with a technical focus, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in web operations, digital operations, website management, or a related role with a focus on website security and collaboration with development teams, including experience with Content Management Systems, and familiarity with headless CMS concepts. Direct experience with Sanity CMS is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to manage projects using agile methodologies (e.g., Sprint planning), prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of web security principles and best practices, and the ability to interpret security reports and recommend remediation actions, particularly in the context of modern web architectures.
- Strong experience with Content Management Systems, and working knowledge of Sanity CMS, including data modeling, content APIs, and the admin interface, is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with modern web development frameworks (e.g., Next.js, React) and deployment platforms (e.g., Vercel) and how they impact operations and security.
- Proficiency with Git and Github for version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with website monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, or similar) and automated testing tools (e.g., Ghost Inspector, or similar).
- Understanding of server infrastructure, domain management, and SSL certificate management in cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with security audit and penetration testing processes and methodologies, and the ability to manage vendors performing these services.
- Familiarity with marketing technology integrations (e.g., Marketo, CRM systems) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and vendor management skills, particularly in working with technical teams and external technology providers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to security and performance, and a collaborative mindset.
For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.
