SailPoint is seeking a Vice President, Product Strategy to support a diverse set of strategic product initiatives. The role will be responsible for analyzing market trends, defining SailPoint’s strategic Product options, and establishing a long-term direction for SailPoint’s products in concert with Product Management and go-to-market (GTM) teams. This role reports to the SailPoint EVP of Products.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product leadership to define and communicate a clear and compelling product vision that aligns with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform product decisions.
  • Work with the SVP, Product Management, and the rest of the Product leadership team to establish long-term roadmap and set NPI strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, PM, finance, sales, and marketing to ensure that the product strategy aligns with the company’s overall goals.
  • Use data and analytics to measure product performance, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions about expansion opportunities and in-product upsell.
  • Develop and present compelling business cases to justify investments in emerging areas.
  • Collaborate with SailPoint revenue leadership to ensure that the product strategy aligns with sales and growth goals.
  • Understand technology ecosystem and recommend partners for inclusion in the SailPoint Technical Alliance Program
  • Recommend industry bundles that address specific vertical challenges.
  • Understand usage, churn, and expansion characteristics to identify gaps in product portfolio by segment and derive recommendations to offset gaps.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
  • Develop a long-range Platform strategy – including upstream requirements (product capabilities) and downstream strategic coordination (market-facing activities)
  • Work with our Corporate Development team to evaluate potential acquisitions to accelerate the long-term product roadmap.



  • 15+ years in strategic roles within the cyber security industry
  • Deep knowledge of the cyber security market and an understanding of the identity and access management space
