Veho is seeking a highly experienced and strategic-minded individual to lead our warehouse operations as the Vice President of Ground Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operations of over 50 warehouses (hub/feeder and parcel/delivery) across the United States. You will play a critical role in optimizing processes, driving productivity, and ensuring seamless supply chain management while scaling more facilities to enable Veho to hit its profitability and growth targets.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive warehouse operations strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the teams running the day-to-day activities of warehouse operations, including receiving, sort, and distribution. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and Veho service levels (99.9% On Time Delivery).
- Operational Optimization: Oversee the team responsible for streamlining warehouse processes, enhancing operational effectiveness, and increasing capacity. Implement best practices in warehouse management systems, technology utilization, and automation to drive efficiency gains.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including transportation, procurement, customer service, and senior management, to ensure effective coordination and alignment of warehouse operations with broader business objectives. Support effective communication channels and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to warehouse managers and staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. Develop and mentor high-performing teams, promoting employee engagement and professional growth.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to safeguard warehouse operations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security protocols, and environmental standards.
- Budget Ownership: Develop, manage, and execute the budget for warehouse operations, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control measures. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service level.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s, or Master’s, degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. As well as a strong knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain management principles, and best practices.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse operations. Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple warehouses and distribution centers, as well as experience scaling operations and opening new sites.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and manage diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements, automation, and technology solutions to optimize warehouse operations with a proven track record of improving efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing profitability.
- Familiarity working within a tech-enabled company and experience with the latest warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and other relevant technology platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive results.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and quality standards applicable to warehouse operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, tech-driven, hyper growth environment.
- 50% travel required
$225,000 – $275,000 a year
