In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and nurturing high-level relationships with key, critical law enforcement agencies and NGOs in a way that maintains Thorn’s trusted reputation, advances our mission and current strategic objectives, as well as ensures our strategy is informed by the needs of our partners. This role will cultivate the relationships and insights needed to build technology that activates the law enforcement and NGO community to identify child victims of online child sexual abuse faster & equip those on the frontlines of victim identification with the tools needed to do their jobs.

What You’ll Do

  • Cultivate and manage high-level relationships with key law enforcement agencies and NGOs.
  • Champion innovative opportunities to advance our mission through stakeholder engagement and alignment, fostering a culture of continuous learning and progress.
  • Drive adoption of Thorn-developed, victim-centered technology with key partners, unlocking fresh avenues for growth, increased reach, technological integration, and sustainability
    • Work with cross-functional teams to execute our Go-To-Market strategy.
    • Develop and oversee a transparent set of success metrics, enabling us to track progress effectively towards our objectives.
    • Lead and facilitate impactful meetings, ensuring proactive communication of project milestones, potential obstacles, and significant updates to stakeholders both internal and external.
    • Communicate complex issues to internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Foster a deep understanding of the needs and perspectives of our law enforcement and NGO partners, guiding product development, data strategy, and research initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate across Thorn the role that law enforcement and NGOs play in achieving our mission, how the near-term goals contribute to our mission, how we are progressing, and what we are learning. Ensure teams across Thorn can tap into our stakeholder network (both internal and external) to advance our mission and achieve our objectives.
  • Serve as a compelling ambassador for Thorn’s vision, strategy, and impact, actively engaging with stakeholders in service of our shared mission to combat online child sexual exploitation.
  • Represent Thorn at conferences, workshops, and forums, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders in the field of child protection.
  • Support sustainability efforts for Thorn’s mission, ensuring our impact endures for generations to come.
  • Play a pivotal role in securing funding opportunities, working closely with the development and business teams on contract renewals, and identifying new avenues for growth.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach team members. Set clear goals and expectations for the team, while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years experience working within Law Enforcement or NGOs in the child protection space at a global level strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team. Emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Proven proficiency in business strategy and execution, coupled with the agility to manage large-scale transformation initiatives that drive meaningful change, leveraging strategic partnerships and technology effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills across various mediums—oral, written, interpersonal, and public speaking— and audiences, coupled with a persuasive and passionate demeanor.
  • The capacity to seamlessly navigate between strategic vision and operational execution, maintaining focus on both the broader objectives and the finer details.
  • Experience in project management planning and delivery, coupled with a keen analytical mindset to identify requirements and innovative solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across geographical boundaries, fostering synergy and driving results remotely.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where ambiguity is a constant.

Compensation and Benefits

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $158,300-$209,000/year. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location; skill sets; experience and training; licensure, and certifications.
