PositionStaff Product Designer (job code 90905)
DutiesDevelop design and specifications for experience and functionality of user interfaces. Create and design user experiences and interfaces for merchandisers, product managers, and data scientists. Use graphic design and human-computer interaction knowledge to create a personalized shopping experience for shoppers across B2C and B2B E-commerce. Focus on Bloomreach’s Search and Merchandising product which leverages artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) technologies which power large and recognizable brands, such as Staples, Neiman Marcus, and Gap. Work with the global product design team to ensure user interface (UI) consistency and seamless integration between various Bloomreach product lines. Support the Product Management and Engineering organization to plan, design, and build state-of-the art web products using tools such as user empathy and research, problem analysis and synthesis, interaction, and visual design to develop high quality user experiences. Work with product managers to understand the search and merchandising market and engage in planning and research to help the team focus on the right problems to solve. Bridge web product development by refining web design usability testing, being proactive in trade-off discussions with engineering teams, and participating in the QA process by providing product design considerations. Write, present, and share design layouts with both internal stakeholders and with the wider user experience (UX) community via blogs, books, and events. Own large product design initiatives from end to end, from conducting market problem research, to defining feature scoping, to UI design iterations and validations. Focus on designing web products in Bloomreach discovery while initiating new processes and practices that improve the efficiency of how our product and engineering teams build products.
Education RequiredMaster or foreign equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science or related field.
Experience Required2 years experience as Product Designer or related occupation.
Alternate RequirementsWill also accept Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science or related field plus 4 years experience as Product Designer or related occupation.
Special RequirementsMust have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:

  1. Product or UI/UX design
  2. Building and shipping applications or software features in an agile environment.
  3. Present design concepts and deliverables to stakeholders, defending design decisions and incorporating feedback into the design cycle.
  4. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand and translate requirements into user interfaces.
  5. Conducting quantitive and qualitative user research to gather user data and feedback
  6. Leading the design process throughout the product lifecycle, including sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals using design system components and patterns
  7. Develop, contribute, and maintain design specifications and design systems

Salary$182,410 – $225,714 per year
