As Staff Network Engineer, you will be responsible for managing networking services in both conventional on-premise infrastructure environments and within Public Cloud platforms. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate has proven experience laying the network foundation required for a successful transition of services from on-premise to Cloud infrastructure.
What you Will Do:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
● Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure for both on-premise and Cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
● Develop and maintain network architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices.
● Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and potential points of failure.
● Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with business objectives and integrate seamlessly with other IT systems.
● Perform regular network capacity planning and performance tuning to support growth and scalability.
● Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code tooling and other automation for network provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
● Stay up-to-date with emerging networking technologies and trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
● Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.
● Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices for risk management.
About You:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
● 12+ years of related experience, master’s degree and 8+ years of related experience, or equivalent related work experience.
● Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, etc.) strongly preferred.
● Deep knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
● Hands-on experience with SDN and networking services in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM).
● Experience managing network traffic distribution using both open source and commercial NLBs.
● Proficiency in network security practices and tools (firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS).
● Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (Terraform, Ansible, Python).
● Prior experience with Juniper products strongly preferred.
● Experience working in a Linux-based environment
● Experience with Zero Trust / SASE is a plus.
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
