Sr. Staff Product Manager – Federation Core

Are you an experienced product manager excited to work with developer tools that help the biggest companies around the world connect and orchestrate their APIs with GraphQL? As a Product Manager at Apollo in the Federation Core group, you will be defining the capabilities and methods for how organizations integrate their various backend APIs into a single unified API that is easy and efficient to query.
In this position, were seeking an accomplished Product Manager with a highly technical acumen and understanding of APIs, query languages, and algorithms. As a specialized Product Manager working on the foundational library for API federation and query planning, youll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to provide platform engineers with the tools, capabilities, and controls they need to integrate their API ecosystem and efficiently and reliably query it.

What youll do
-Define and drive Apollos vision for how APIs are federated and queried.
-Own and evolve Apollos ability to provide API query planning insights across the development lifecycle, from a developers IDE through to production, through common federation tooling.
-Build and evangelize a roadmap across internal and external stakeholders.
-Develop and validate new GraphOS capabilities directly with industry-leading customers, such as Paypal, Wayfair, Peloton, The New York Times, and many others.

About you
-You have successfully led product development lifecycles and technical product management, ideally with developer platforms and tooling or similar B2B products.
-You have deep experience with APIs and algorithms.
-You understand how to work back from the customers perspective to identify value and develop a clear product vision.
-You are adept at reasoning technical tradeoffs in relation to the product vision youve built.
-You like learning and proactively keeping up with new developer trends by reading books, watching videos, taking classes, or doing something similar.You possess a strong entrepreneurial drive and leadership skills.
-Youre excited about GraphQL and modern developer tooling and are interested in helping push the industry forward.

Direct experience with GraphQL, API middleware, or scaled API platforms.

We are open to hiring these positions at a Staff Product Manager to Sr. Staff Product Management level, based on fit. The accompanied salary range covers these levels.
In addition to the U.S. base salary range, we also provide equity and benefits. Location: This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the United States or Canada.
