We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead teams focused on transforming and enhancing the healthcare data. You would work in collaboration with the Tech Leads of each team to ensure success of programs. You will be a key member of a multi-talented team that is using cutting edge data technologies to innovate in the digital healthcare industry.

In this role, you’ll get to lead across three domains: People, Process and Technology.

  • Attract, inspire, grow and retain exceptional engineers.
  • Partner with the Product team to define a vision and roadmap for the 1upHealth platform.
  • Lead the Engineering teams that build data pipelines, services and tools to manage our customers’ data.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to execute on the roadmap and vision with velocity and predictability.
  • Partner with the Product and Implementations teams to ensure that our customers’ data is of high quality and provides the maximum value to our customers.
  • Work across the organization to optimize the 1upHealth platform for scalability while reducing its overall cost of operation.
  • Deliver software products using Agile scrum methods and foster a metrics-based software development culture.

 

We are looking for people who have:

  • Technical ability to problem solve with engineers and drive technical trade-offs and decisions. Previous hands-on experience as a software developer and technical leader.
  • Experience with modern data technologies (e.g. Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, etc), and serverless and/or container-based architectures.
  • One or more of:
  • Experience managing high volume/velocity data stored in a modern data architecture (e.g. data clouds, data lakes, data lake houses, etc).
  • Experience with healthcare data formats based on current HL7v2 and FHIR standards.
  • Experience applying machine learning tools and techniques to improve and enrich datasets and extract business value.
  • Increase team performance with Agile scrum and Kanban development methods while minimizing technical debt.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and executive leadership.
  • Experience including 5+ years managing team(s) of Software and Data Engineers, and a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
