Our Solutions Engineer (SE) academy is designed to put you on a path towards success beginning with a 10-week immersive training & development to build your business acumen, sales and product knowledge, professional network, and customer-centric mindset. Upon successful completion of the training, you will transition into a Solutions Support Associate role within a major sales market and embark on a path for career growth and success!
Training class dates: Begins February 17, 2025 – April 25, 2024 (10 consecutive weeks – virtual, work from home)
About the SE Academy Experience:
- Initial 10 week immersive training, coaching, and development (fully virtual training)
- 2-year development program with mentorship
- Learn technical and sales fundamentals for success from proven sales leaders

Location
We are seeking candidates located in either Pacific Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time, & Central Standard Time for this position, preferably in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

The Main Responsibilities
- Work within a collaborative team environment as part of our sales eco-system to develop and document customer requirements, solution designs, service configurations, and project scopes of work in support of the delivery of network and IT solutions to business customers.
- Support and assist field Solutions Engineering teams to identify and develop additional revenue opportunities.
- Provide general discovery, support, and education to customers and internal Lumen personnel on questions or issues arising from service.
- Research, define, and document service change requests where needed in support of service modification.
- Work with customer and company personnel to help identify and define technical. problems, determine and design the solution and assist customer in implementing the fix.
- Uncover and define customer solution and business development strategies, including the recommendation and communication of technology roadmaps to business customers.
- Present Lumen capabilities, solution concepts, and technology roadmaps to both internal and external audiences in both formal and informal business settings.
- Participate in marketing and networking events and activities with customer technical and business contacts.
- Provide continuous feedback and recommendations to Solutions Engineering leadership on where processes, services, tools, and capabilities can be improved or evolved to ensure ongoing improvement in efficiency and service innovation.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree background; Business, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Telecom, Networking, or similar degree (preferred).
- Entry level opportunity ideal for new or recent graduates with less than 2 years of experience.
- Basic understanding of communications, cloud, application, and information technologies and design.
- Strong communication skills with ability to convey business and technology concepts to a wide range of audiences and skillsets
- Comfortable speaking or presenting in an engaging manner to groups of professionals.
- Conveys a sense of urgency, responsiveness and drives issues to completion.
- Ability to show adaptability and resilience.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and passionate individual, who can define impact by examples of customer service, projects, or work experience.
- Passion for customer service and desire to understand and introduce new technology to customer base.
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$44532 – $59375 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
$46800 – $62500 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
$49219 – $65625 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$51563 – $68750 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
