As a Sr HR Business Partner, you’ll drive strategic HR initiatives by partnering with business units to optimize performance management and career planning. You will leverage employee feedback (via data and anecdotes) and implement actionable solutions to enhance employee engagement. You will empower leaders, including executives, to develop and execute organizational strategies, fostering an effective and confident leadership team. You will collaborate closely with leadership to assess and positively impact organizational health, influencing people and culture throughout the entire employee life cycle.

What we’re looking for:

  • 6+ years experience working as an HR Business Partner, preferably within a fast-growing SaaS or other type of technology company.
  • Experience supporting the Tech and/or Product focused teams within a company.
  • Relationship Builder, a strong EQ, capable and accountable to quickly establish credibility and influence management and resolve conflicts with leaders with a variety of experience
  • Strategic thinker, someone with the ability to identify solutions and the associated impacts across the organization. Demonstrated SME in multiple HR areas;
  • Cross Functional Partner, work with centers of excellence across HR, Finance, etc to make impact. Such as working with HR and Data to analyze trends and metrics in partnership, or working with the HR team on the annual performance review and compensation cycle
  • Sound judgment, leverage business insights partnered with a human centric approach. Able to connect data and anecdotes from multiple areas to identify opportunities for greater impact from the business
  • Bias for action, execution and delivery: you’re willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Comfortable operating in ambiguity: you don’t always have all the information but you’re resourceful and curious.
  • Proven experience as a HRBP: broad experience in a variety of employee relations situations, strong knowledge of current professional processes, trends, and compliance practices in the US and in Canada; International experience a plus.
  • An understanding of and comfort leveraging HRM data to create a narrative and inform the business of recommendations and opportunities.
  • Proficient with HRM tools such as UKG, CultureAmp, Ashby, and Charthop (preferably); able to quickly learn new tools, systems and processes, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Openness to leveraging/adopting AI tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in advising and decision making from a data informed perspective
  • Acute listening skills: People often compliment how great you are at listening and how they love your approach to tackling difficult situations.
  • Communication skills that adapt: You can handle difficult situations and conversations with poise and professionalism, while retaining human touches. A lot of communication here happens in Slack as well, so emojis are our best friend 🤗
  • A strong level of ownership, confidentiality, attention to detail, and a knack for organizing processes using all three.
  • A penchant for documentation and readiness to help others learn from your past experience.

 

What you can expect:

Month 1

  • Establish connections with colleagues and begin building relationships, understanding your influence on our culture.
  • Engage with HR COEs (HROps, Total Rewards, TA, etc.) to develop a comprehensive understanding of our collaborative workflows.
  • Shadow other HRBPs on calls, observing their approaches and client support strategies.
  • Review and enhance team documentation, identifying areas for improvement during a period of company growth.

Month 2

  • Collaborate with the team to design, draft, and implement global employee programs.
  • Continue shadowing HRBPs and begin leading your own calls, demonstrating an understanding of HR and business priorities.
  • Support the HRBP team by managing backend partnership processes with centers of excellence.

Month 3

  • Partner with other HRBPs, COEs and leaders and begin to leverage the HRBP dashboard and people data to positively impact org health, drive process improvement, and update/create programs
  • Demonstrate a well informed understanding of the existing programs and can answer employee questions and point people to the right resource to learn more
  • Drive engagement initiatives and culture programs, promoting a learning-focused culture where people are encouraged to continue growing, try new things, and learn from their mistakes.
  • Continue building a network within the company, meeting new people often and hearing their perspectives on working here.
  • Keep open communication with partner team members, using their feedback to improve your team and others within the company.

 

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $137,000 USD and $185,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
