Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Events, the Senior Events Manager is responsible for developing, planning, organizing and executing event programs that focus on building awareness, driving demand, and delivering on defined business goals and objectives for Anthology.
This position is key in the driving of event best practices and exceptional program execution while leveraging knowledge and experience to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors supporting company events. This person will also drive engagement, collaboration and management across a matrix organization, external vendors, customers, leadership and peer level staff to maximize event outcomes that support multiple goals and objectives.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Guiding the strategy, experiential design, production, and operations to effectively achieve all event objectives Prioritizing operational excellence in planning to ensure the seamless execution of impactful events
- Serving as lead event manager for Anthology’s annual user conferences globally (working directly with external vendors, internal business development, creative and other teams, and execution across all event components)
- Maintaining oversight of requirements, dependencies, budget, schedule constraints, and other pertinent details as they arise during event production. Ensuring that third party agencies support meet all expectations and deliver accordingly
- Developing and driving processes for affiliated meetings and comp/discounted registration options
- Partnering with business development and sales teams to conceptualize and deliver novel sponsorship packages for partner companies at user conferences. Managing sponsor fulfillment deliverables
- Managing multi-million-dollar budget details and driving to ensure YOY innovation at event
- Assisting with vendor RFP processes as required. Handling negotiations and contract MSAs/SOWs
- Supporting corporate and Go to Market program plans (aka conferences, tradeshows, sponsorships, special events)
- Supporting the development of brand identity for Global corporate events which includes: Look and feel development, event experience, branding, and other marketing pieces as needed
- Copywriting and supporting developing content to create marketing assets
- Managing future year search options for programs, providing summary of findings and making recommendations
- This role requires approximately 25% travel
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 8-12 years of event management experience
- Has a proven track record of leading production for large scale events (2,000+) with a history of contributing to both strategy and logistics
- Proven experience in developing and driving successful event programs that drive awareness and provide demand generation opportunities
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Outstanding project management and coordination skills with ability to track multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables
- Demonstrates proficiency in managing substantial budgets, effectively forecasting expenditures, and mitigating risks through comprehensive reporting
- Ability to collaborate across functions and cultivate strong relationships with team leaders and external production vendors
- Ability to excel and drive results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Self-motivated, innovative, collaborative, multi-tasker, and creative
- Proven ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets
- Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business
- Cvent Event Management and attendee hub certification
- Education industry experience
- Familiarity with event management tools and systems
Pay range is $103,000 – $116,000/year depending upon experience.
