LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Content Product Manager to join our Marketing Team. Reporting to the VP of Content and Communications, this role will play a pivotal role in orchestrating content production across all content producing teams at LaunchDarkly.
The Sr. Content Product Manager will grow the frequency, volume, and quality of external content across marketing, product, and sales. Part content strategist, part project manager, this instrumental role will know the ins and outs of all external content being produced at LaunchDarkly in order to best serve all LaunchDarkly audiences, across developers, enterprises, media, and influencers.
Our ideal candidate will have worn every content marketing hat: writer, editor, manager, and strategist and has the empathy and deep project management and collaboration skills to orchestrate content production across multiple company stakeholders. While this role requires expert skills and experience in writing and content marketing, the primary responsibility of this role is not writing, but instead the management, collaboration, and orchestration of content development across other content creators. This is a highly visible role requiring stellar interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities: (Required)
- Own and orchestrate external content production from teams across LaunchDarkly: primarily Marketing, Product, and Sales
- Organize and run a quarterly cross-company Content Council to ensure messaging and publishing consistency in addition to sub councils to stay on the pulse of all production across teams
- Analyze and regularly report on productivity, quality, and impact of all external-facing content (blog posts, research reports, keynote presentations, web copy, analyst reports, webinars, social campaigns, etc.)
- Create a shared content calendar that serves as a single source of truth for all meaningful content activities across LaunchDarkly
- Study our competitive landscape to understand new channel opportunities and evolutions to our program
- Interface regularly with the CMO and Marketing Leadership Team to ensure clear visibility and alignment with all marketing campaigns
- Empower all content producing teams to understand the impact of their work and help direct adjustments as needed
- Success in this role entails increasing collective content output, improving quality and consistency of content releases, and ensuring an elevated brand experience for our end users
Qualifications: (Required)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in content marketing and content program management (at least 2 years of experience in content orchestration across distributed internal content teams)
- A keen understanding of the nuances of content production (how many layers of review does a piece of content need, what can cause delays in expected publish dates, how to motivate increased output during transition periods, etc.)
- Superior interpersonal skills and proven experience interfacing with executives and negotiating with cross-team stakeholders to ensure alignment
- An expert editorial eye–you can spot a missed Oxford comma from a mile away and revel in fine-tuning and error-proofing all forms of copy
- Excellent project management skills–detail orientation doesn’t begin to cover your level of organization and prioritization
- You’re excited by a challenge and primed to institute a new discipline in a rapidly changing environment
- Deep understanding of content attribution and analytics–you’re results oriented and inspire others to be the same
- Superior writer and storyteller with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely
- Past demonstrated experience at a developer-focused tech company (enterprise experience a plus)
- Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented; thrives in building relationships and working cross-functionally
About You:
- Team-Oriented: You excel at collaborating across the company. You can move easily between business stakeholders, product development and marketing teams and are motivated by achieving success as a team.
- Great Communicator: You have a natural ability to build relationships with cross-functional team members and are a master of the written word, with excellent attention to detail.
- Startup Mentality: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you need to balance multiple projects and prioritize your work both short and long term.
- Data-inspired: You appreciate the balance of quantitative and qualitative analysis and you use that analysis to make informed recommendations.
- Bias for action: You seek necessary inputs, but don’t strive for perfection or solving 100% of the problem before you dive in and start creating.
- Positively Inclined Problem-Solver: You see challenges as opportunities, lead with answers, assume best intent, and present with empathy.
