Job Description

The Reinsurance Recovery Associate is responsible for the day-to-day management and recovery of outstanding balances relating to Michigan Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. This role is assigned claims that range from basic to moderate complexity. This role ensures timely and accurate submission of reimbursement requests, effective communication with reinsurers, and proper documentation to support recovery efforts.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

•Submit reimbursement requests accurately and within required timeframes.
•Obtains information necessary to properly handle recovery of paid losses. This may include extensive interaction with reinsurers and claims adjusters.
•Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation for all assigned claims.
•Collaborate with reinsurers, internal teams, and management to support recovery efforts.
•Follow established procedures and workflows under general supervision.
•Reviews and evaluates both internal and external reports and systems.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
•High attention to detail and organizational ability.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
•General understanding of insurance or reinsurance processes.
•Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

 

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)

 

Experience

• 1-2 years specialized training in Accounting, Medical Billing or Finance

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $18.65 – 29.54 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
