Hotel Engine is seeking a QA Engineer with strong experience in manual testing to join our engineering team working on our Pricing and Optimization platform. You will work directly with our development and product teams and the Hotel Engine employees using our software to help shape the future of our company. Our team is focused on shipping quality product, and we want to add a self-starter who truly enjoys software development, product ownership, solving problems, and learning something new every day.
The ideal candidate loves ensuring that we are shipping quality code. The right candidate wants to be the go-to resource for their areas of responsibility and share what they know and learn with teammates.

Here’s how we work:

  • We have daily stand-ups, refinements and retrospectives
  • We are good teammates who follow our working agreement. We are looking for hard workers who don’t let their ego get in the way
  • We ship code daily to our production, staging, and continuous integration environments
  • We verify test results, deployments, and production monitoring alerts

 

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years software QA experience in an Agile environment
  • A passion for learning new technology and giving users a polished, highly usable experience
  • Has worked in a high volume, publicly facing production site
  • Proficient with API testing utilizing tools like Postman
  • Proficient with databases and using SQL to write queries
  • Detail-oriented with ability to perform back-end data validation and analysis to ensure data integrity and reconciliation
  • Experience with manual testing web, backend and mobile apps
  • Experience in defect management, creating test plans, test scenarios and writing test cases based on user stories
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for collaborative team environment and technical documentation

Preferred:

  • Experience with different data models
  • Experience with testing automation
  • Experience in a fast-paced agile environment

Cash compensation:

  • The total cash compensation for this role is $60,000-$95,000/year with an annual bonus target of up to 15%. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above
