Principal Software Engineer, Embedded Finance

Toast is building out an Embedded Finance product line with the goal of researching, developing, and eventually scaling a new generation of financial solutions for restaurants that can have a substantial impact on Toast’s long-term growth. In this very senior engineering role, you will oversee all aspects of our Embedded Finance solution which includes some existing products such as BillPay and Capital, and helping to identify new opportunities and solutions. With Toast’s suite of restaurant management solutions, our customers take orders at tables and online, send orders to the kitchen, schedule employee shifts, and even manage supplier purchasing.  On the Embedded Finance team, we are working to become an integral part of our customer’s financial lives.  Embedded Finance will be the set of capabilities that connects the restaurant’s payments directly with the suite of Toast’s capabilities.  We are looking for a motivated engineer to help build this product line from the ground up, ensuring that we have data consistency, design components to be reusable across use cases, and mentoring other team level technical leads on architecture and design.  The responsibility includes customer facing experiences as well as platform build – it is true full stack ownership.
