Peerspace invites people to find, share, and book the most magical spaces in the world. Since 2014, our community has been opening the door to thousands of spaces – from lofts and mansions to storefronts and studios – helping people to create one-of-a-kind experiences that would not be possible elsewhere. In total, over 5 million people have been welcomed into a Peerspace location, and we’re looking for people who want to help us reach the next 50 million.
The Role:
The Principal Product Manager in this role will be responsible for taking potential customers from the consideration phase all the way through finalizing, booking, planning and throwing a successful event. It’s a wide-ranging remit spanning Messaging, Checkout, Payments, post-booking experience and enhancements to host tools. You will identify, prioritize and systematically address the friction points holding users back, and give them the confidence and conviction they need to advance to the purchase stage. You will ensure there’s sufficient value and incentives for hosts to keep transactions on the platform, and that we have the right trust and safety measures to protect both sides of the marketplace. And as we look to expand beyond booking the venue to procuring everything else that’s needed for a successful event,  you will play a critical role in building out the right product  strategy to fulfill this ambition.
You will need to be that rare PM who can think big enough to launch new product lines and/or business models, while staying on top of details – like ensuring our transactions are recorded correctly from a financial reporting perspective and that our checkout flow is seamless. In partnership with Engineering leaders, you’ll decide what makes sense to build ourselves, and where to plug in 3rd party offerings. Our team is small but mighty – so you’ll be able to make a ton of impact quickly, and help chart the future direction of the company.
What you’ll do:
Develop a deep understanding of how our business works today, current guest and host behavior and pain points, competitors and market trends.
Establish a clear vision and strategy for improving the guest journey, from consideration to purchase to completing a successful event. Identify and prioritize new monetization avenues and paths of growth for the business.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on objectives, metrics and product roadmap. Lead Product Discovery to determine which solutions to explore, how to validate risks and test hypotheses.
Communicate plan and progress to leadership team and stakeholders across the company. Actively listen and respond to feedback.
Drive execution and ensure your cross-functional teams deliver customer value and desired business outcomes effectively.
Provide feedback to other Product Managers and peers, contribute to creating a learning culture and a fun, rewarding workplace where people can realize their full potential.
Who you are:
7+ years of Product Management experience in an eCommerce or Marketplace setting.
Creative and entrepreneurial problem solver who can go from high-level opportunity to detailed plan to successful execution. You are great at energizing teams, building  product roadmaps and collaborating with engineering, design, marketing and operations to make it happen.
Scientific and data driven. Skilled in coming up with hypotheses, honing in on the right test strategy to validate these hypotheses and defining success metrics/guardrails.
Excellent written and verbal communicator who can simplify or deep dive as needed.
Inclusive, open-minded, self-aware and eager to continuously learn. You have a passion for product and are genuinely excited about Peerspace’s mission.
Track record of successfully leading expansion into new verticals/lines of business is a big plus, as is experience with payments/checkout and financial reporting.
