Clever is looking for a Head of Business Analytics to lead our efforts in harnessing the power of data to drive strategic decision-making and business growth. You will oversee all aspects of our business analytics function, and will play a key role in shaping our data-driven culture. You will also be responsible for integrating various systems to ensure seamless communication and data flow across the business (customer, product, and finance data), as well as optimizing key systems to ensure they provide maximum leverage to teams (eg. Salesforce). You will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making, translating insights to business decisions and developing strategies to leverage data to accelerate Clever’s growth and innovation.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Clever’s comprehensive business analytics strategy, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Drive data analysis to inform business decisions, focusing on insights that accelerate revenue growth and organizational efficiency.
  • Build and develop a small team of data analysts and Salesforce administrator, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Potential to add additional roles over the next 6-12 months.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to understand business needs and develop reporting and insights to support achieving them. Act as a trusted advisor on data-related matters, partnering closely with Clever’s Data Engineering team.
  • Build and nurture a data-driven culture across Clever.
  • Optimize and integrate tools that support the organization’s data analysis and reporting needs that span customer-facing, product, marketing, and finance data (eg. Sigma, Amplitude, Braze, Intacct, Salesforce).
  • Define strategic roadmap for key systems leveraged across the business (eg. Salesforce).
  • Develop, refine, and automate reporting systems to facilitate informed business decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies in business analytics, evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Business Analytics & Systems leadership: You have strong functional expertise and past leadership (5+ years) experience in building company-wide business analytics strategy from the ground up. You are willing and excited to use your strong analytical skills to translate complex or messy data into actionable insights. You also have experience transforming systems, ensuring seamless data flow and process optimization to maximize organizational efficiency.
  • Foster a data-driven culture: You have a proven track record of creating an environment where data is seen as a powerful tool that everyone can use, not just a select few. You encourage, promote, and enable data literacy across the organization. You constantly look for ways to educate others to make them comfortable with data, and instill that mindset in your team.
  • You run towards problems–not away from them: You’re a systems thinker that is comfortable identifying problems, coming up with solutions (not band-aids), and implementing them. You are not afraid of driving change, have an ownership mentality, and go the extra mile to deliver the best possible results.
  • Business Leadership and Communication: You are able to translate business priorities into data and systems strategies that provide greater leverage to cross-functional teams. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinking to execution: You’re able to take a macro view to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement. Then you’re able to zoom into the weeds to help your team execute.
  • People Leadership: You have strong leadership and management abilities, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
Self-starter: You’re able to define your own processes, set direction, and execute without being told what to do every step of the way. You love building things from the ground up, and have a proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to equity and belonging: At Clever, we believe the classrooms we serve and our company’s halls should be spaces that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive. That is why we are committed to building diverse teams, inviting every voice, and creating a safe space for everyone to be their authentic self. By fostering equity and belonging within our circles of influence, we unlock learning for ALL students.
