  • Manage the payroll team to accurately process payrolls for 900+ employees (exempt and non-exempt)
  • Interface with outside payroll services (ADP, Workday and Vistra), government tax agencies, and other vendors in seeking resolutions to problems and issues
  • Lead special projects, including payroll process improvements and automation
  • Manage and lead Payroll audits

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the efforts on Workday implementation, transitioning from ADP Workforce Now
  • Oversea the Payroll team ensuring payroll is processed timely and accurately
  • Maintaining accurate and complete documentation to support payroll activities in an audit-ready manner
  • Oversea the payroll related reporting to business partners such as HR Accounting and Finance Departments
  • Oversea the year-end W-2 and T4 processing
  • Support finance, worker’s compensation, 401(k) and FSA audits
  • Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters including tax issues and deductions
  • Ensure Sox compliance in the payroll processes
  • Multi state payroll processing in the US and Canada and internationally for the U.K. Australia, Germany, Netherlands
  • Experience processing a high volume of stock payroll transactions including RSUs, ESPP, ISOs and NQs
  • Experience with expat arrangements and tax equalization
  • Drive metrics and identify areas of opportunity for automation and process improvement
  • Work closely with key business partners to identify areas for improvement and customer-specific solutions
  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
  • Provide expertise on payroll processing in the US , Canada and internationally)
  • Manage the payroll close process (calendar, reviews, reconciliations, analysis, reporting)
  • Build appropriate internal control requirements, including maintenance of documentation for payroll related processes and providing recommendations, as appropriate. Ensure continued adherence to internal control requirements.
  • Support external auditor requests, including research and analysis of audit questions
  • Review and optimize current processes and procedures through continued integration of systems, enhanced automation and digitization of records
  • Build, manage and mentor a team
  • Perform special projects or other duties as requested

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of payroll experience
  •  4 + years of public company experience a must
  •  2+ years of payroll experience using Workday payroll system and Workday HRIS
  • Worked day payroll system implementation experience a positive
  • Experience with processing payroll for non exempt hourly employees
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll regulations, compliance and payroll process for multi state and international set up
  • Experience with SOX documentation, understanding of internal controls  and accounting processes
  • Bachelor Degree and CPP or FPC accreditation preferred
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of successfully working with cross-functional business stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Excel (vlookup, pivot, etc.)
