About the Role:
The Channel team is responsible for growing Matterport’s revenue through a global footprint of distributors & value added resellers.
Matterport is looking to hire a Director, Global Channel Program to drive the continued growth of our network of value added partners. The Matterport channel operates a 2-tier distribution model across AMER, EMEA and APAC. This role will be directly responsible for establishing a global strategy and implementing the broader go to market capabilities & initiatives to support such a strategy. This is a highly cross functional role, working with the Go To Market leadership team and our regional channel teams to deliver a globally consistent but regionally focussed approach.
The ideal candidate would be an entrepreneurial revenue focussed go-getter with a problem-solving mentality. They would come with deep program level experience in order to assess our market position & priorities, bring new ideas and strategies to extend & accelerate our existing channel ecosystem with our value added partners & distribution.
A cross collaboration work ethic will be essential in order to influence and guide the desired outcomes. You will be expected to collaborate across Product, Sales, Operations, Finance and IT
What you will do:
- Own the end-to-end program-level strategy for our value added partners & distributors coverage and capabilities, and be accountable for metrics, performance, and optimization of the overall program.
- Responsible for working with the in-region channel sales leaders for establishing a global sales target, based on each team’s go-to-market plan based on our current and in-progress capabilities and initiatives.
- Working with the in-region sales leaders, synthesize a global strategy and facilitate the roll out of increased capabilities (e.g., product mix) and coverage (e.g., number and type of VAR coverage).
- Establish, refine and grow the structure of the value added partner program, including tiering, value added partner standards and qualification, training and education standards. Work with the in-region sales leads to ensure channel account managers are effectively managing against the program standards.
- Establish and implement through the in-region sales leaders and sales operations, a scalable process (including managing and leveraging our Partner Relationship Management Tool) to regularly and reliably forecast, close and report our VAR-driven revenue. Identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and, when needed, recommend new ones. Work with sales operations to ensure consistent and reliable implementation of processes to ensure scalability.
- Working with the partner marketing team, establish program collateral and marketing programs that support continued value added reseller growth and sell-through.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and thought leader with the US-based cross functional teams (Finance, Operations, Enablement, Product, IT, etc) that are a critical path in enabling the capabilities and growth expected from our in-region teams.
- Establish scalable communication process and structure at both the global and regional sales level, ensuring alignment on the efforts and progress of the global program.
- Critically analyze program effectiveness, identifying strengths and opportunities, with the goal of creating and implementing plans to continuously improve the channel program.
- Assess the Market priorities & competitive landscape to ensure our program continues to add value to Matterport and the partners while serving our clients
- Duties of the role may change subject to the needs of the business.
Who you are:
- 8-12+ years of channel program management experience, with particular emphasis on value added partners and value added distributors on a global scale.
- previous sales experience as an individual contributor in channel sales.
- Proven track record in reliably setting targets, forecasting and exceeding established sales targets.
- Demonstrated capability to work in a highly cross functional environment, where ability to achieve success is equally dependent on strong direct line management skills and ability to influence outcomes through dotted line relationships.
- Structured and analytical thinking, coupled with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through.
- Self-starter and self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to adjust to a fast-paced, dynamic environment, which may warrant shifts in priorities and approach.
- Highly organized and able to multitask without any loss of output or focus
- 30 – 50% travel required
