BiggerPockets requires the leadership of an experienced Subscriptions Executive to chart the future path of our Free and Pro Membership and related business lines. This person should be a visionary executive who will relish the challenge of creating a product that is essential to investors at all stages of the investing lifecycle – from rookies purchasing their first investment to veterans managing, scaling, or exiting from large rental unit portfolios.
The General Manager of Memberships is Responsible For
- Articulating the vision of a one-stop-shop future value proposition of our membership products that serve investors at every stage of the investment lifecycle.
- Defining the monetization potential of this one-stop shop, specifically emphasizing subscription or recurring revenue models that serve investors continually throughout their real estate investment journey.
- Creating a clear visual of the future state of the product, and how the core customer experience will integrate with various “point solutions” we will either build, partner on, or acquire through M&A.
- Forming partnerships with leading companies who offer various “point solutions” and maintaining strong relationships with executives at many of these companies, informing an M&A pipeline for the company.
- Creating a product roadmap for the subscriptions business in partnership with the product and design team.
- Leading the test, launch, and scale, of multiple company-created features and products that complement the existing pro membership, or create new subscription tiers.
- Installing the “101” of customer success, to include a strong onboarding experience for new subscribers, engagement protocols and renewal protocols for existing customers, and placing infrastructure capable of sustaining and continuously improving these experiences.
- Installing and regularly reporting on a clear metrics dashboard that highlights the critical KPIs of the subscriptions business on a weekly and/or real-time basis.
- Developing a scalable long-term (2-4 years out) organizational chart for the subscriptions business and filling the key leadership positions.
Competencies / Skills
- Clear understanding of the real estate investor community and it’s unique challenges.
- Visionary: Able to clearly articulate and bring about an inspiring future state of our subscription products.
- Business Development: Ability to network with and maintain positive relationships with external companies, form creative partnerships, and provide direct access to decision-makers that can aid in M&A activity.
- Excellent written, verbal communication. – Charisma suitable for audio/video content.
- Hands-On: This role will, at first, require the GM to execute as an individual to conduct many of the experiments and tests in the organization and wear many hats.
- This individual needs to demonstrate competency and the ability to execute as an individual performer, not just as an executive.
- Experience leading B2C or B2SMB (Small Business) subscription products or businesses required.
- Excellent relationship building skills and a genuine desire to help our customers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in real estate investing is a plus.
Compensation
- $175,000 – $200,000 + 30% bonus potential.
Travel
- Minimal travel is required for this position.
Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note this is still a full-time position and you are expected to work a normal 40-hour workweek. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
