Role Overview:
In this dual capacity role, you will helm Flex’s legal and compliance departments, providing top-tier counsel and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and legal requirements. Your guidance will be vital in navigating the legal complexities of the fintech industry while fostering a culture of compliance throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and oversee the legal and regulatory framework for the company’s operations, ensuring compliance across all functions.
· Act as the primary legal advisor on all major business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
· Design and implement an effective compliance program that identifies and mitigates risk, ensuring alignment with financial regulations.
· Lead internal audits and investigations, report findings, and recommend remedial actions.
· Manage the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts, ensuring they meet legal, regulatory, and company standards.
· Serve as the point of contact for all regulatory bodies and external legal counsel.
· Facilitate a company-wide understanding of legal and compliance issues through training and communication.
Qualifications:
· J.D. from an accredited law school with current bar admission.
· Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a legal and compliance role within the B2B fintech or B2B banking/credit-card services sector in the United States. At least 3 years in a Fintech startup.
· Demonstrated expertise in the legal and regulatory environment of financial services, including knowledge of consumer lending laws, payments, and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
· Strategic mindset with the ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams.
· Proven track record of balancing legal/compliance requirements with business objectives.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
