We are seeking a highly skilled Events Program Manager to join our team. As an Events Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, planning, execution, and evaluation of a variety of events ranging from conferences and trade shows to corporate roadshows and customer events. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven record of successfully managing complex events and programs. This position is a process-focused position in which ideal candidates will author and enact new operational processes or streamline current operations to benefit Docker’s event engagement strategy.

Reporting to the Director of Events, this successful candidate will be able to use strategic and innovative thinking to anticipate the needs of a rapidly scaling event program and contribute to the growth of that program. This person will excel in working with the challenge of ambiguity, cross functional teams, differing priorities, and limited time allowance, while incorporating project management methodologies toward reaching optimum ROI for each event engagement. They will understand the importance of brand elevation and factor the Docker brand into all aspects of event planning. They are familiar with the technology industry, specifically the developer community, and will facilitate the best experiences for target groups. They are logistics rockstars and can effectively communicate logistics needs to stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop programmatic solutions to the event strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage multiple events and programs simultaneously, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Establish and maintain timelines, budgets, and project plans for each event or program.
  • Own and initiate the “Conference in a Box” and “Sales Roadshow in a Box” programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, engineering, executive teams, to align event objectives with overall business objectives.
  • Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, such as vendors, sponsors, and partners, to enhance event experiences and achieve strategic goals.
  • Oversee onsite event logistics and operations, ensuring smooth and successful execution.
  • Create methods of reporting to assess effectiveness, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.


In the first 30 days you will:

  • Ramp up the goals of the 2024 Event strategy.
  • Operationalize conference engagement with a comprehensive SOP document.
  • Lead a small team of event coordinators to execute multiple upcoming conferences.
  • Plan conference ancillary events.


Within 60 days you will:

  • Own and establish the Conference in a Box program for internal use.
  • Own and establish the Roadshow  in a Box program for internal use.
  • Works with the Growth team and Marketing operations to create a comprehensive metric reporting dashboard for Pipeline and ARR.


After 90 days:

  • Have transitioned into full ownership of upcoming events.
  • Be able to easily identify process improvements for events.
  • Contributes to the event and brand team with event execution ideas that ladder up to Docker’s overall strategic goals.



  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in event and program management, with a proven record of planning and executing corporate, technology and /or large-scale events and conferences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with In-Person, Virtual and Hybrid Events and Brand Experiences
  • Experience in building relationships and collaborative partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed. Travel 30% of the time.
