We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Email Developer & Marketing Operations Specialist to join our Lifecycle Marketing team.
In this hybrid role, you’ll be the bridge between creative design, technical execution, and campaign operations — ensuring every email journey is beautifully built, flawlessly executed, and strategically optimized.
You’ll translate designs into responsive, high-performing HTML emails, build and manage automated workflows in Iterable, and partner cross-functionally with marketers, designers, product, and engineering to deliver personalized lifecycle experiences that drive engagement, conversion, and retention. You will collaborate with our product and engineering team to ensure seamless functionality through user acceptance testing (UAT). The ideal candidate will have a passion for clean code, a keen eye for design, comfort with campaign set up and a collaborative spirit.
What will you do?
- Email Development
- Convert Figma or design mockups into responsive HTML emails compatible across devices and major email clients.
- Develop modular, reusable templates and maintain a scalable design system for email.
- Ensure all emails meet accessibility, rendering, and deliverability best practices.
- QA and troubleshoot rendering issues using tools.
- Marketing Operations & ESP Management
- Help with campaign setup and deployment within Iterable, including triggered, recurring, and ad hoc sends.
- Build customer journeys, workflows, and audience segments using behavioral and lifecycle data.
- Configure dynamic content and personalization logic to enhance targeting and engagement.
- Partner with lifecycle marketers to implement A/B and multivariate tests.
- Maintain data hygiene, naming conventions, and documentation within Iterable to ensure operational excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure campaigns are both visually aligned and technically sound.
- Collaborate on UAT and troubleshoot integrations between Iterable and internal systems.
- Stay up-to-date on email and martech trends, privacy regulations, and technical innovations.
What will you NOT do?
- You will NOT worry about “runway”, “cash left”, or “how much time we have until the next round”. We have the startup DNA but we’re fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
- You will NOT be confined to your “job”. You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
- You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
- You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?
Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in email development, HTML/CSS coding, and working within ESPs preferably in a high-growth consumer focussed organization.

- Familiarity with A/B testing, segmentation, and personalization.
- Understanding of email deliverability, accessibility, and data privacy best practices.
- Analytical mindset — comfortable interpreting campaign metrics to drive optimization.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with high attention to detail and ownership.
Bonus:
- Experience with Mailgun/Github, GDPR
