As the Director, Sales Compensation, you will be an integral member of the Total Rewards Team consulting closely with senior members of Human Resources, Sales and Sales Enablement Organizations. You will assume primary responsibility for sales incentive plan design, financial modeling, preparation of presentations, implementation and administration of the sales compensation for our global Sales team. What you’ll get to do

  • Independently lead the design, implementation, and administration of sales compensation plans, including sales incentive plans and SPIFFs.
  • Develop strategies and program recommendations through data analysis and communicate findings/ recommendations through presentations.
  • Review compensation programs for effectiveness and efficiencies; ensures programs comply with legal requirements and are cost effective.
  • Serve as a member of the Sales Compensation Committee, managing the inbox and reviewing sales commission deviation requests in partnership with Finance and Sales Operations.
  • Provide guidance to and collaboration with HR and leaders on sales compensation related matters such as offer approvals, merit/promotion planning support, and new job evaluations.
  • Analyze and evaluate specifications for new plans or modifications to existing plans to maintain company’s competitive market position.
  • Evaluate and analyze salary data, conduct job evaluations and determine pay grades and salary recommendations.
  • Manage sales compensation related projects.
  • Provide analytical support for a variety of sales initiatives related to sales compensation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of environmental, legal and regulatory factors that impact sales compensation practices.
  • Keep current on sales trends in total reward strategies.
  • Identify and participate in salary surveys to obtain current data for job evaluations to ensure the Company’s competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Responsible for managing the integrity of the overall sales job data in the HR system to ensure associates are classified correctly and report data is accurate.
  • May provide compensation consulting support to other Functional teams, in addition to the Sales organization.
  • Will also be responsible for leading and/or participating in projects related to other broad-based compensation programs, non-sales related.
  • Manage, develop, and coach one direct report (Sr Sales Compensation Analyst)
  • Lead or assist with other projects or duties as assigned.

Skills and experience we value

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with sales design and administration of compensation programs
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience
  • Experience working for a global organization. Experience in a technology company preferred
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Capable of working in a high-volume environment with complex issues
  • Demonstrated experience of operating with a strong sense of urgency – able to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize against deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail
  • Experience in understanding and technical expertise of broad-based compensation programs (Sales, Executive, Base and Variable Pay)
  • Experience with Xactly software a plus
