InStride Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Information Technology to lead the IT department in a growing startup. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing and implementing organizational-wide technology and systems to support the overall goals and objectives of InStride. You will report to the VP of Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization’s IT strategy in alignment with InStride’s business objectives. Provide leadership to the IT team, fostering innovation and staying abreast of emerging technologies.
  • Systems and Tools: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of existing and new tools and systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure business requirements are met and effectively integrated with existing systems and identify opportunities for process improvement through the use of new tools and systems. Continuously assess and optimize business systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance user experience.
  • IT Management: Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, Support, and Operations. Plan and execute system upgrades, patch management, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Vendor Management: Help select and manage relationships with InStride IT vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery of products and services.
  • Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s data and systems. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • IT Support: Serve as an escalation point for IT support and develop and maintain a tiered level ticketing system to ensure timely responses for InStride staff
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Deliver onboarding training to new hires and work cross-functionally to optimize and streamline processes. Complete secure and compliant offboardings where appropriate.
  • Training: Continuously develop appropriate training for new tools, best practices, and system enhancements. Work cross functionally with Training department to optimize and delivery through the LMS
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with executive leadership to communicate IT strategies and initiatives to all stakeholders. Foster effective communication between IT and other Business Units
  • Project Management: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for IT and business system projects. Work closely with department heads, business analysts, and external vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet the organization’s needs.

What You Need to Succeed in the Role

  • 5+ years of experience in IT management, business systems management, or a similar role
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading IT projects, managing business systems, and overseeing IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex Technology projects
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based IT infrastructure, systems, security and compliance (HIPAA, SOC2)
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Jira, etc.) and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Customer service oriented, with the ability to support a tiered level ticketing support system
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP) are a plus
  • Experience in a growing startup is a plus
