The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek an experienced and dynamic Director, Insider Threat Program based in our New York City Office. This job reports to the Sr. Director, National Office Security with teams in Global Safety & Security (GSS) tasked to establish operational standards to enhance safety & security throughout the organization, at their offices, and for staff and guests.  Their leadership will complement other Safety, Security, & Workplace Services leaders, who collectively work to protect our people, places, guests, and brand.
This position is located in the New York City, NY office.
Purpose:
This role will lead the GSS Insider Threat program at the National Office and is seen as a subject matter expert who offers compelling thought leadership around Insider Threat programs and procedures.  This role is directly responsible for:
● Developing, implementing and managing PPFA’s multidisciplinary Insider Threat Program
● Developing insider risk framework, taxonomy, charters, program documents, and identified critical assets
● Providing monthly metrics and contemporaneous briefings to GSS leadership and key stakeholders
● Collaborating with stakeholders from People, Culture and Equity, Office of the General Council, Information Technology, Information Security, and other key stakeholders
● Identifying and developing processes, controls, and technologies that will improve the ability to deter, detect, and mitigate insider threats
● Assisting in the development of watchlists, rules, and alerts in detection tools
● Working closely with GSS leadership in the development of mitigation strategies and recommended security best practices
● Monitoring, managing, and analyzing data collected from National Office incidents and threats
● Coordinating closely with the National Office Security, Director of Intelligence
● Partnering with People, Culture & Equity and other key leaders for investigative leadership and support
● Offering authoritative guidance while considering organizational strategy
● Playing an integral role in the innovation and strategic development of this program
● Acting as a secondary leader for the Sr. Director of National Office Security, for any response, as well as GSS program support, when needed
● Supporting the GSS program in other areas, as needed, and other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director, National Office Security
Delivery: 
This role will manage the development, implementation and management of PPFA’s Insider Threat Program.  The Director, Insider Threat Program is a key role within the GSS with cascading responsibilities to key partners (i.e. Information Security, People, Culture & Equity) and will be responsible for the alignment of the Insider Threat Program within the National Office.
Once the Insider Threat Program has been developed and implemented, they will lead continual process improvements and evaluation of emerging technology to ensure this program operates at the highest of standards.  It will support strategic objectives to help in the resilience and security of the National Office. This role will also identify business opportunities and develop team capacity to deliver and promote business development.
Engagement:
They will also work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and law enforcement counterparts with investigations and information sharing.  It will be imperative to collaborate for sound rapid response, as well as long term support, for any safety and security risks to the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): 
● Bachelor’s Degree required.
● Minimum of 15+ years of security experience in positions of increasing responsibility, including at least five (5) years of management experience
● At least ten (10) years of specialized investigations experience with a focus on insider threats
● A combination of federal law enforcement and private sector corporate security, along with experience building an insider threat program, is preferred.
● It is imperative that this individual demonstrates a high level of discretion and works with the utmost of confidentiality.
● Demonstrable experience in Insider Threat program development and implementation
● Proven knowledge of data sets and technologies (i.e. ActivTrak, Teramind, Proofpoint) relevant to an insider threat program
● Demonstrated ability to lead and manage across the disciplines and pillars of an insider threat program
● Knowledge of, and experience with data exfiltration
● A proven understanding of machine level learning
● Demonstrated ability to develop data structure and detection algorithms
● Must be knowledgeable with social media platforms, open source search methods, investigative techniques and electronic crimes.
● Strong presentation, organizational, leadership and communications skills.
● The ability to multitask, prioritize, work under time constraints and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
● The ability to examine information and to provide concise, comprehensive and/or consolidated briefings, with key recommendations.
● Must have demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism, diplomacy and with a calm demeanor.
● Ability to quickly adapt to the changing environment and the challenges unique to the Planned Parenthood Federation.
● High ethical standards and exemplary customer service skills are mandatory.
● Ability to problem solve, collaborate, and build strong relationships with partners.
● Strong program and project management experience.
● Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
● Knowledge of diverse groups, working within a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity to, and appreciation for, cultural differences.
● Occasionally available outside of normal working hours, but must be responsive on text messages and/or emails, for operational needs.
● Flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and ambiguous situations

TRAVEL: Less than 10% domestic travel to support the GSS program.
