LaunchDarkly is seeking a skilled Compensation leader to join our dynamic team and contribute to our success by developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compensation solutions that align with our strategic goals.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping our global compensation strategy, ensuring our programs are competitive, equitable, and compliant with all regulations. You will synthesize insights from quantitative analyses, engage with a wide array of stakeholders, and influence decision-making at the executive level. Your analytical expertise will help us identify trends, diagnose compensation challenges, and propose innovative solutions that enhance our overall compensation structure. We need a team member who can balance big picture future thinking with day-to-day executional excellence.
Responsibilities:
Develop data-driven narratives that inform decision-making on compensation-related issues. Tell the story of the insights gleaned from scenario modeling, trends, and data analysis. Put compensation data in the appropriate context for the audience.
Conduct deep analyses on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs, modeling the potential impact of alternative strategies.
Build trusted advisor partnerships with executive leaders and managers in addition to People, Finance, and Legal team members.
Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to drive informed decision-making using data to identify trends, resolve the root causes of issues, and develop solutions.
Serve as a functional subject matter expert on compensation practices, leveraging industry trends to enhance compensation solutions and advocate for new processes. Scale our processes and tools and proactively identify potential changes in response to business needs.
Evolve existing stock and executive compensation plans to align with the company’s strategic objectives and vision. Consult with Talent Acquisition and the Chief People Officer on executive offers. Build compensation materials for the quarterly Board of Directors meeting.
Enhance existing base pay programs and implement new programs, including pay structures, pay progression policies, and metrics to track program effectiveness.
Manage design, administration, delivery, and support of the organization’s compensation programs and related procedures including benchmarking, market analysis, merit, promotion, and equity award cycles
Create educational materials to promote understanding, enhance compensation decision making, support effective compensation conversations, and highlight the value of our Total Rewards package
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in broad-based and executive compensation design, delivery, and administration, including experience with equity programs in a pre-IPO environment and Board of Director material development.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from complex data sets.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
Proven experience in developing and implementing compensation strategies that align with organizational goals.
A bias for action and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Pay:
Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level P6:
Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or New York City Metropolitan Area (if not Bay area specific role): $195,000 – $229,000**
Zone 2: Boston, DC, Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Seattle: $175,000 – $206,000**
Zone 3: All other US locations: $165,000 – $195,000**
