The External Communication Specialist must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral, and have strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders. They must also be highly organised and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key responsibilities
- To lead, manage and deliver all external communications, including media relations, PR, awards, corporate publications, and events.
- To develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with key business areas and to provide an external communications advice and support service.
- To plan, manage and deliver a range of high-quality corporate communications projects, to agreed timescales and budgets.
- Manage proactive and reactive media enquiries, media releases, statements and briefings.
- Build relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- Working with and managing third party agencies.
- Monitoring media activity for own and competitor activities.
- Develop audience mapping and targeting strategies.

- 3 Years + experience in public relations or marketing communications
- Strong media relations skills
- Experience delivering cross-functional communications programs
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to deliver results to tight deadlines
