The right candidate is a strategic leader with superb communication skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and is able to navigate competing priorities while consistently being effective at decision-making for the company’s growth and profitability. You must possess a background in senior operations leadership and technology, coupled with the resiliency that is required to succeed in a high-growth startup environment in order to drive alignment, accelerate progress, and optimize performance across all internal teams.
Here’s What You’ll Do Day To Day:
- Act as the nexus for Product, Growth & Marketing, and Customer Support while focusing on driving KPIs and OKRs across internal teams to achieve vision.
- Command and control the internal operations of the company, maintaining alignment on core objectives, accelerating progress, and optimizing performance.
- Work in lock step on a regular cadence with the CEO and CFO to achieve desired financial outcomes and provide real-time feedback on where current initiatives or team efforts along with these objectives or not while seeing where there is room for improvement.
- Be the central point of accountability for business goals – set the objectives and keep the business on track to hit these goals.
- Cultivate a strong working relationship across teams that align with the company values of compassionate directness, high integrity, optimism, intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, empathy, and self awareness.
Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Superb communication skills – Let’s face it, we love remote work, but there are inherent communication challenges that do not resolve themselves – we have to be deliberate about them and as COO you will be setting an example for the rest of the team. Bonus points if you’ve had previous success leading and communicating in a remote environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills – We have many competing priorities and have to constantly refocus to ensure we’re making the best decisions to serve both our members and hosts. As COO, you’ll need to be able to assess the many ideas that surface, prioritize effectively, and see the ideas through to reality by building out robust processes.
- Excellent influencing skills – With a fully remote team and many bright minds on the PadSplit team, we have healthy debates before coming to consensus. The PadSplit COO will be successful if they can figure out how to get buy-in, not by dictating what has to be done.
- Operations and Tech Experience – You’ve been a senior operations leader and you’ve got deep experience in technology. You need to be able to “talk the talk” when it comes to product, design, and engineering; deeper technical expertise is a plus.
- Resilience – PadSplit’s high-growth environment is exciting, but with fast growth comes a lot of quick decisions and pivots that have to be made as we get smarter.
Here’s How We’ll Know You Have Been Successful:
- Growth and profitability are accelerated due to coordination among technology, growth, and customer support.
- Pivots are more effectively executed due to improved communication, coordination, and prioritization.
- Managers and team members have a clear idea of priorities, and steps to move from present state to future vision, and understand how they fit in.
- Team members understand and are excited for PadSplit’s strategic plans to grow to over 10x current company size, and are aligned on the path to reach these goals.
