This is a unique opportunity for an experienced internal medicine Certified Medical Assistant to provide real time, dynamic member, provider and stakeholder clinical support. In this role, reporting to the Director of Optimization Outcomes and Performance, you will serve as a partner and first pass responder to member phone calls, pharmacy calls and clinical triage within an existing protocol. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional, motivated CMAand excited to be a valued team member in a supportive environment. Comfort in a fast paced atmosphere is a plus! There are two schedule options for this position including:
- Sunday-Thursday, 9am-5pm CST
- Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm CST
Responsibilities
- Provide timely, professional response to urgent care line clinical response to Twin members, pharmacies and external PCPs as evidenced by adherence to partner specific SLA metrics.
- Escalate calls appropriately to the provider or nursing team via a specific clinical escalation protocol as evidenced by member satisfaction and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Some outreach to members to confirm appointments leading to reduction in no show and cancellation rates for contacted individuals.
- Some phone calls to pharmacies to assist with auto-refill cessation where directed.
- Tracks and reports on specific processes, as determined by managing team
- May include member outreach to help complete health risk assessments and capture missing information over the phone
- Utilizes EMR tools/platforms, portal messages, phone calls, faxes and/or letters
- May help initiate medication refill requests
- Participates in team huddles, care management planning and operations meetings
- Participates in continuous process improvement activities and initiatives
- May performs administrative tasks (indirect care) that support the care team
- May perform follow-up calls to members and primary care/providers regarding their experience and any high-level, program-related questions or issue resolution needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- National Certification in Medical Assisting
- 5+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, working with clinicians
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in outpatient internal medicine/family practice clinic
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Empathy and the ability to connect with members and teammates, care team members
- 2+ years of college
- Role requires proficiency level typically achieved with three-five years of experience in healthcare as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Health Unit Coordinator, etc.
- Displays ability to communicate with others effectively, listen closely and convey information clearly
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills with ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced, innovative environment
- Manages multiple, competing priorities and enjoys details
- Likes to work independently and as part of a high performing team
- Enjoys problem solving and takes initiative to present solutions
- Experience with electronic health records and platforms
- Experience using audio/visual technology or video conferencing platforms
- Knowledge of healthcare practices and medical vocabulary
- Knowledgeable in patient intake, capturing necessary medical info and medication reconciliation
- Access to high-speed internet and phone lines

Position Details
- The compensation range for this position is $22.00 per hour.
- This is a 90 day contract.
