Blockchain Smart Contract & Backend Engineer

We’re searching for a passionate and talented Smart Contract Developer to join our project-driven team at Unstoppable Domains. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying secure and efficient smart contracts that power our web3 domains. You will work closely with our CEO and Engineering leaders across the company to innovate the future of the decentralized web.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy secure and scalable smart contracts for blockchain platforms (e.g., Polygon, Ethereum, Solana, etc.)
• Be part of a small team, with a large amount of ownership and autonomy. Collaborate with our registry engineers to ensure smart contracts meet functional and non-functional requirements
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to best practices
• Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and security audits of smart contracts
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology and smart contract development
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our blockchain-based solutions
• Identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities in smart contracts
• Optimize smart contracts for gas efficiency and performance
• Ship high quality solutions in a fast-paced environment where requirements can change quickly
• Willing to work with Typescript b/c a lot of our code is in typescript.
• Experience in backend development; experience building and running projects with high availability, experience with sql, orms, etc.

Qualifications:

• Requirements:
  • Great backend engineer, interested in smart contracts, specifically solidity
  • Ability to work efficiently in a Remote distributed team
  • Excellent async (written or recorded) communication skills because we are remote
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Prefers iterative development (not waterfall, we have zero product managers)
  • Passion for building secure and innovative solutions
• Bonus Points
  • Proven experience developing smart contracts using Solidity or other relevant languages (e.g., Vyper, Rust)
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology concepts (consensus mechanisms, cryptography, gas optimization, etc.)
  • Experience with decentralized applications (dApps) and familiarity with DeFi protocols (a plus)
