The Core Cross-Sell team are the growth experts powering high-velocity brands and eliminating the pain. Our mission is to help our existing merchants grow by providing value through various product offerings, selling our financial service solutions, or upgrading core merchants to Shopify Plus. We are merchant obsessed and driven in our goal to make commerce better for everyone.

As a Cross-Sell Sales Representative, you will devise and execute outreach strategies, engage in discovery to uncover problems, and value sell to help our merchants reach their goals. You will need to manage outbound and inbound accounts within Salesforce and your own book of business. To be successful in this role, you will need to build trust with our merchants and have a strong understanding of our 4 product lines: Shopify Plus, Capital, Payments, and Instalments.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Quickly gain deep understanding of the unique business goals, needs, and pain points of prospects, helping them grow their business with Shopify product
  • Involvement in all phases of the sales lifecycle, including identifying and developing leads; meeting with clients; developing value propositions; financial deal structuring; and contract negotiation and closing
  • Effectively move your way through the sales cycle managing your pipeline
  • Collaborate on projects within the team and region with other Shopify teams to deliver the highest level of merchant experience
  • Being curious and using good sales discovery to be a problem solver
  • Manage a pipeline of 20+ opportunities at all times
  • Maintain a high velocity of sales activity with a focus on qualification and closing
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

  • Strong track record managing and closing complex full sales cycle deals, preferably in technology or software product environment
  • A “hunter mentality” with a demonstrated drive to make cold calls and outbound your book of business
  • Sales acumen with strong discovery skills to uncover pain points and persuasively outline the value of product solutions
  • Strong communication skills with ability to easily build trust by finding clients the best solution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the market and industry that our merchants work in, what impacts their business, and how
  • Ability to manage large pipelines and multiple deals at once
  • Self-discipline to stay focused within the chaos of diving into new markets
  • A desire to learn and master the value of new product iterations, and teach our growing merchants
  • A passion for talking to people, understanding their unique business needs, and showing them how to 10x their business
  • The ability to innovate and develop new ways to sell and disrupt enterprise software sales
