We are looking for an HR/Payroll Specialist to support our thriving team! You will play a meaningful role in leading and executing payroll operations across our global locations for our 500+ employees. You will work closely with HR teams, finance departments, and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees in various countries as well as facilitating our onboarding/offboarding, leave management processes and other HR related activities.
**This role requires a minimum of three days a week in our Fulton, Maryland office
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration
- Prepare and process semi-monthly and monthly payrolls for 500+ employees (hourly, non-exempt, exempt, commissioned) across all entities (US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, Singapore and Colombia) maintaining compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Process payroll adjustments, paid time off, leave management, bonuses, commissions, expense reimbursements, garnishments, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Run payroll data accurately in the HRIS/payroll system and maintain data integrity of employee records.
- Partner with international payroll vendors to ensure accurate facilitation of global payroll
- Supervise registration for payroll taxes with new states, payroll tax reporting and audit requests relating to payroll
- Submit and run deferrals for US 401(k), UK Pension, and Australian superannuation
- Find opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance system functionality, and improve operational efficiency.
- Implement standard processes and automation tools to optimize payroll workflows and reduce manual errors.
HR Specialist Tasks:
- Facilitate on-boarding and offboarding processes
- Accurately build, maintain and audit employee records in HRIS, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Manage leave processes (FMLA, parental leave, etc.)
- Lead the company wide HR Inbox, responding to questions from employees in a timely manner
- Support onsite HR needs such as record keeping, processing and actioning mail, etc.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of demonstrable experience administering payroll. Global payroll experience is preferred
- Demonstrable knowledge of regulations relating to US payroll and benefits, payroll related taxes, garnishments, overtime, and other income
- Proficiency in payroll software/systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP) ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
- Ability to successfully work collaboratively across the organization
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information.
